Purchased for my daughter. She said that her face has never been this warm! The jacket also kept her warm with just a tee shirt on in 0 degree temperatures. It looks good and doesn't make her look like a puffy man! She is thrilled with this jacket and since it was a gift, so am I!
I have been looking for a coat that is both stylish and actually warm in Michigan winters for two years, and I finally decided to break the bank with this coat as it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. Although I realize I am much skinnier than most, the XS was enormous on me! I am used to taking things in, but the fact that I had to take this coat in almost 4 inches is ridiculous. My other problem with this coat is that it is not as warm as it professes to be. I have worn it this year in 10 degrees weather and I found it a little bit lacking even though I had a sweater on underneath. I wish it had a little more thickness to it - it feels too thin. Pros: The purple color is lovely, as is the fur hood, which is large enough to actually cover your head when your need it. I actually like the plastic zipper because it isn't as cold and seems to get caught less often. I love the microfleece cuff inside the end of the sleeves and the pockets. All in all, this could be the perfect winter coat with some changes: make the XS a true XS and not a medium, add a little thickness to down, and put microfleece on the entire inside of the coat, or at least the area on the back of the neck for added warmth.
This is a great jacket for the cold weather! I love the color and the fact that it has a fur hood! I was used to my old jacket which was a little longer and had an inside pocket on the left side and this jacket has an inside pocket on the right side! Other than that, the only disappointing factor with this jacket is that the pockets are a little on the small side (not as deep so it is difficult to fit a pair of gloves along with your keys)!
Looked all over for a coat, & it dawned on me that LL Bean has great quality clothing. They did not disappoint. I was reading the other reviews. Most suggested buying a size down. Since I like to layer my clothing under coats, especially in sub-zero weather, I decided to take a chance on my regular size (M) 5 5 130 lbs. So glad I did. Today I had a sweatshirt & vest underneath. A fitted coat is not for me. Did not have any trouble with the zipper like others reported. Maybe it all depends on the color you buy. I bought the black, since the color I wanted was out of stock. To prevent not being able to see out of the hood, I turned it over once, & it stayed. Had a few fur hairs in my face, but nothing like it would have been if I didn't turn it over. Today it was 5 degrees. Kept me warm. I'm very satisfied with this coat.
