Great jacket, great price. We have a very humid cold here. Goes right to your bones. And as I am outside a lot, I need a warm jacket that keeps out the damp. And this one does the job wonderfully. Love this jacket. One of the nicest aspects of this coat is the zipper - 1) it's metal and 2) unzips from the top & the bottom - for sitting down. Pockets are good, Could be a lttle deeper. Coat runs a tad small. Fine for here where I wear a flannel shirt underneath. But if you were to wear a heavy sweater I would order a larger size. My last jacket was a men's down. This one is more girly - love it!
This is for skiing when the temperature does not dip below high 20's - I have another for colder weather. It is a small, regular, and fits perfectly (I'm 5'4", 112 lbs) in brown. I rarely put the hood up, but when I do I can't really see because it's deep, but it's warm.
I really wanted to love this jacket. I absolutely love the spruce color because it looks fantastic with my complexion. However, the fit of this jacket doesn't work for me. I purchased the xs even though I am 5'6" and 130 lbs with an hourglass figure. It fits well in the arms and bust, but is super baggy through the waist and hips to the point where it hangs away from my body. It was extremely frumpy looking. I wore it for a walk around the block (5 min) at 40 degrees and my butt was freezing by the time I got home since the jacket did not completely cover it. Additionally, when I walked into and away from the wind, I got cold because the breeze blew up through the gaping bottom. I should not get cold at 40 degrees in a Bean coat. That’s not the quality I expect from Bean. I really hope Bean redesigns the fit of the jacket but keeps the spruce color to make it about 3” longer and more fitted through the waist and hips to give it a more feminine look and keep the wind out. There should also be a drawstring at the bottom as other reviews have noted.
I have ordered this coat as a Christmas treat! I am so happy I have! This coat is extra warm and cuts out wind beautifully! I am very petite and tiny and this keeps me covered to my hips (I'm 4ft 10inches). The feather down is incredibly light and the extra neck protection is an added bonus!! I also love the Spruce color!!
