First of all, the shipping was SO fast! It took me completely by surprise when it showed up! It's incredibly warm and you can tell by the great quality it will last me many winters. I got this in anticipation of commuting this winter with a long walk through Boston most days and nights. My only complaint is that it is very wide on the bottom. I got a size medium so I could fit layers underneath and I'm not sure a small would have worked for me since everything else on the medium fits perfectly. On other (less expensive) jackets I've had a way to adjust the circumference on the bottom of the jacket so I'm a little disappointed that I cannot with this one and cold air just gushes inside... On a positive note I have not had any issues with the zipper and all in all its pretty cute. Its nice and heavy without making me look like marshmellow!
I love this jacket, it's super warm yet still very light weight. I spend a lot of time waiting for the train outside on the cold windy platform and this coat always keeps me warm and toasty. The fleece lined hand warmer pockets are divine. It does run very large. I ordered a size smaller than I usually get and I still have plenty of room to wear a bulky sweatshirt.
Unfortunately, had to return this item. Normally, I am a size L but this coat is huge around the hips and waist. The fabric and fill seemed nice. It is nice looking.
I spent a lot of time reading the reviews before I purchased this jacket. Most of the comments had to do with the zipper, it's a two way zipper so I was a little concerned. Now that I've worn my jacket several times, I have to say I love everything about it! I got the dark violet (purple!) which I love, and the zipper is not a problem at all. It does open from both ends but only when you choose to do that. I like having the ability to open it from the bottom when I'm sitting down, like in the car, so the jacket doesn't bunch up and it's much more comfortable. And the zipper is easy to work, in either direction, no problems with it. The weight is great, keeps me warm even in the wind. The hood fits perfectly, which was a pleasant surprise! There is no tie at the bottom to tighten up to keep the cold out, not sure why they didn't put that in, but again I don't find that uncomfortable and haven't noticed any breeze coming in! But if you have to wait outside for a bus or something, you might want that feature. Now, the only thing I'm not crazy about is the fur on the hood. That was one reason (although minor) I got this coat, it's been years since I had a coat with fur on the hood and I always liked that. But this fur (fake) is kind of crazy looking! Too long or something. But an easy fix, I just unzipped it and took it off. I'm thinking that maybe if I wash it, it might look better, just haven't gotten around to that yet. The hood looks great without it anyway. This jacket is well made and sturdy, the pockets zip which is a plus. I have no complaints, I think the fur thing is really minor....it keeps me warm, looks great and I love it! I ordered a size Small, I'm about 110 lbs. and 5'5" tall. It fits perfectly with room for a sweater underneath. The arms are not tight at all with easy movement.
