This is a very warm, light weight jacket. I choose white and it's beautiful with the white fur trim. I ordered a Medium, my usual size, and I have enough room for a heavy sweater without the jacket feeling tight. I would recommend this jacket.
I love this coat! I've had it for a month now, and living in eastern Massachusetts, I have been warm and dry. The coat even works well when you are surprised by rain! Adding to previous comments about the hood, it's not too bad and there is Velcro to make it tighter, but it doesn't stay on too well when it's windy. I am 5'4" and weigh 150, and a medium leaves plenty of room.
I am a lil curvy and therefore usually don't buy short jackets but this one is perfect (sized accurately) and very warm......love that I can remove the fur trim and not lose the hood :-)
It was the first time I made a purchase from LLbean. I've heard this brand for a while and finally decided to buy a thick and warm dawn jacket for my mom. Customer service rep was very nice and helpful when I called. the jacket I got disappointed me not because of the quality (the quality was good though), but the size and color. It was way too big and the color, chocolate brown was a bit dark for my mom's skin tone. so I had to return it.
