I was not warm in 37 to 40 degrees with a sweater & turtleneck under it. I can't understand how they call it "ultrawarm". It is not ultrawarm in any way. The filling is very thin. I'm used to my Baxter State Parka which is warm but has a broken zipper, so I bought this. It is nowhere near as warm as the Baxter State Parka. I am keeping it because I adore the periwinkle color, because it appears to be made well, I like the hood and its faux fur, I like the soft inner cuffs very much, I can fold up the outer cuffs which are long, I like the snaps, the zipper, the pockets. I will wear it indoors in the extreme polar cold that's coming this week and then in the spring. It's a nicely made jacket, but certainly not ultrawarm. If you love periwinkle I recommend this color, but not for cold winter days.
Love my coat, very warm, hood is fantastic and is removable if wanted. Wish it had the waist cinch and maybe larger pockets, but for the price...wonderful.
Received jacket just in time for cold spell MA has been having - great fit - ultra warm but does not "weigh you down" - just love it - have had many compliments "oh's and ah's" - highly recommend it!!
things i like about this jacket: there is a hood; the fur is detachable; the length of the sleeves is good; the coat is not bulky.
things i did not like about this jacket: the overall length is too short; the pockets are too high and too close to the center line of the jacket; the pockets are too shallow; and, there are no interior pockets.
the jacket is not wearable for me because it is too short and because of the awkward pocket placement.
i live in the city and need zippered pockets so my things are safe. i also ski and need pockets for gloves, a cell phone, keys, credit cards/cash and an id).
please move the outside pockets, make them deeper, add interior pockets that have a zipper, AND lengthen the jacket so it hits a few inches below a women's crotch. this will elongate the look of the wearer's legs and create a thinner-looking torso.
this jacket is close to being a useful and visually pleasing coat.
