The jacket is outstanding. Gave it to my daughter for Christmas and she loved it. She just wishes that it came in red. The service I got was the best ever. Fast and no hassles. Came in 2 days. Thanks for helping to make it a Merry Christmas.
I got this jacket as a gift for my daughter. The picture was a color that looked like she would love it. I should have read the description closer. Blue caught my attention, but I missed Periwinkle. This coat is definitely purple Periwinkle. Otherwise a nice coat. LL Bean is so good about returns, I'll look for another coat from them.
This jacket is very warm but runs large - I normally wear a Small in LL Bean coats and jackets - this jacket is definitely one size larger than marked. I had to replace the Small with an X-Small. (I am 5'1" tall and weigh 112)
The hood is larger than other hoods on LL Bean coats and jackets but does stay closed - for me the large hood is a plus.
With the proper size, the jacket is very warm - if it is too large, then air does get up underneath. (I believe this is the source of some other reviewers complaints about the jacket not being warm.)
If you are looking for a lightweight warm jacket, I highly recommend this one. I also have the Baxter State parka, which is the warmest but heavier and the Winter Warmer jacket, which I find good for 30 degrees and up weather - the UltraWarm jacket is a good in between - warmer than the "Winter Warmer" but not as warm or heavy as the "Baxter State" parka.
I ordered this coat in a Blue Periwinkle MD for my 42 y/o 5'4" 119lb body. When it came in, it was BIG! Larger that any medium should be. So I reordered it in small which I had to change the color to Colonial Blue. It was considerably smaller, but I was still thinking it was just a bit big. So I kept it while reordering a XS in the same color just to see. When the XS came in it fit well, but after a few times of switching between the SM /XS I realized that the small had just enough wiggle room for a sweater (or growth as the products last forever) and that if I kept the XS I may regret the tighter fit, so I returned it. After a few days in the small, I know I made the right decision. I love it, what a warm, comfy coat!!!
