When trying this coat on, it seemed very comfortable and warm. But, I could not adjust to the odd looking fur-lined hood. Even though one could remove the faux-fur lining, I felt the hood layed awkwardly against the coat.
I bought three of these, two for our 18 and 22 year old daughters and one for me looking for great warmth. One daughter is 5'6", the other 5'3" and I'm 5'1", we range in weight from 100 - 130. We ordered two regular smalls and 1 XS petite for me. When the two regular smalls were too big we exchanged them for regular XSs thinking they'd fit better. Regrettably, it is the boxy shape of these jackets that is the problem. We all like form fitting, these are square. Generally, we love LLBean, this time we returned all of the jackets. : - (
This coat arrived 2 days ago. The temp was -9 with a windchill of -35! It's a great winter coat. Not bulky - even with a layer of fleece under it. The Rasberry Red is a beautiful color. I'm 5'4, 135#. The medium is a perfect fit. Sleeves are just right, and the body of the coat falls just at my hips. I don't like anything snug, and this has plenty of room w/o looking too big. The hood also has plenty of room. Saves the hair when running to & from the car w/o flattening it, and the faux fur adds a touch of class. It's removable for a different look, but I like it. I love the coat even the size is bigger than I thought. I still keep it. Very well made and I love the color too. You can wear as many layer under the coat.
