I recieved my Ultrawarm Coat and I am very satisfied. It is very cozy and stylish. I first ordered the Periwinkle Blue but did not think it was the right color for me. I then ordered the Brown and it is beautiful the poplin finish is very fine, and the zip off Faux-fur hood is a good idea to have that option. It fits very relaxed with room inside for the matching LL Bean Ultrawarm vest. I look forward to years of good use out of this coat! Thank you LL Bean for a fine product.
This coat is incredibly warm! It's perfect for New England winters and I can fit a sweater under it easily to make it even warmer. I'm normally an XL an would agree that it runs a bit big and is boxy, but I'm OK with it because I wear a lot of sweaters under my coats. My only complaint about it is that some of the outer stitching unraveled under the armpit (now a big hole) and the hood doesn't stay zipped after 2 winters of use. It's my primary coat so even though LL Bean has a guarantee and will take it back and replace it, I can't really do that since it would leave me without a coat in the middle of winter for 2-3 wks during the processing.
ordered this jacket in small, which is size I wear for LL Bean outerwear. this jacket fits very big on me and is very boxy. otherwise seems very cozy. going to try ordering XS and S and XS in the goose down jacket and hopefully one will work.
I wanted to try this coat but usually need a 1X. The XL fit great, I would say it fits like a 1X. Very comfortable through the shoulders and easy arm movement. I am 5'2", 200 lbs, apple shape, and it fits perfect. The dark raspberry is beautiful! More vibrant than the photo online. Nothing neon or bubblegum pink. I was surprised to see it when I opened the box, it's actually my favorite shade of pink. Score! The hood is adjustable. The pockets are comfortable and the zipper is small and does not scratch my wrist when reaching in the pocket. I also tried the Goose Down Hooded Parka and Goose Down Coat and this jacket fit better in an XL compaired to a 1X in the Goose Down coats. The Goose Down coats cut under my arms and felt tight. The material of this Ultrawarn jacket also looked and felt better, supperior. The cuffs looked and felt better. The Ultrawarn coat is a nice coat and I look forward to wearing it out. The Goose Down coats looked like something my kids would wear to go play in the snow. Ok, but not what I'm looking for.
