The jacket seems fine and warm enough, however the hood flaps stick out and the faux fur is horrible and ugly. I had to take the fur off an old parka I have and replace it.
I'm 5'4 and 105 lbs. I bought an extra small, but the jacket was huge! I bought this jacket 4 years ago and it got me through 2 winter pregnancies. I was able to zip all the way (with some room) at 9 months pregnant. I didn't buy it to be a maternity jacket, so now that I am back to my normal size I need a much smaller jacket. Another problem is the hood is very small and doesn't stay on your head unless you velco the part in front of your mouth (which looks kind of weird). Would also be nice if it was a little more fitted in the waist. It is warm though. LL bean should run more true to size since more their sales are through their website or catalog.
Just purchased my 4th jacket,they are all not for me,just 2 of them!! The other 2 are already being enjoyed by my cousin in Northern Ireland.She loves this jacket,it is lightweight yet very very warm.She cannot say enough about this jacket.I gave up up on my wool coats, this is so cosy,nice length and washes beautifully.It does get quite a bit of wear in our New England winters. One other thing, it is not puffy like a lot of down jackets,Best purchase ever!
I returned this jacket for one because I do not like the way the hood flaps do not attach to anything when the hood isn't on your head. It kind of pulls the hood in the back too much. I was not crazy about the fabric also because It does not feel durable and abrassion resistant. I found the body of the jacket a little short ( I bought the petite) but the sleeves were still to long and do not have velcro tabs to adjust. This jacket was very warm though. I wished that I liked it better.
