The jacket is well made so I expect it to last as long as the LL Bean jacket it replaced, 28 years! I bought the light lavender color and love it. So nice to have something light and bright instead of black on a dreary winter day. The jacket is warm but lightweight, very comfortable and suitable for my winter hiking. I love the hood and the flexibility to remove the fur trim or the hood itself. Plus when it is really cold and windy, the hood up and secure really does the job. I wish the pockets on the inside were larger but at least there are two secure pockets inside plus the zippered pockets outside. Great winter jacket!
First off, this coat is not white, it is an off-white cream color. That's misleading. I am having trouble with the zipper--it gets stuck all the time which is aggravating. The hood is enormous and I can't see out of it. The coat is warm enough and very roomy for a big sweater. I like it but I would say it's not worth all that money as it is a bit cheesier than it looks.
I have a long long coat like this jacket that I've been wearing for 10+ years. Given that quality and durability, I ordered the jacket. It's just as great as the long coat and I like it a lot. It fits perfectly, is as warm as advertised, and I'm sure will last me as many years as the coat. Thanks L. L. Bean for your great products!
This coat has a nice soft material on the outside and lots of nice down feathers for warmth. I always remove the fur from hoods because I just don't like it, but I kept the hood and I like the velcro close on it to really keep the air out around my neck and head. I looked at this online and decided that I needed to go to my local store for a fit check. I'm glad I did, as this does run large. I actually had to go down 2 sizes from what I thought I was going to get.
