This jacket was way to big. I got a small and it was huge so I exchanged it for an extra small. Still too big and drafty around the bottom. I returned it and got a down jacket from another retailer.

I am very happy with this jacket. It keeps me nice and warm and looks great too. Only once I had to wear a light fleece underneath because it was very windy and cold and I was outside for recess at school. Other than that it's great even without a layer.
I ordered this parka because of its hood and its temperature rating, and it is definitely warmer than other Bean parkas I own. But I'm puzzled that, on a day when the temp was in the 20s, I felt chilly air in the sleeves. I'd thought its rating meant that it would be warm in temps far colder than that. If you live in a fairly temperate region that sees winter temps in the 30s mostly, then this should be just fine. If not, you might want to look for something that can handle colder days. Overall, though, I'm very pleased. The hood adds a great deal of protection, more than you might think. Worth the investment, most definitely

I have both this and the 3/4 coat ultra warm and they are toasty warm in the wind and cold of New England. Unlike any other jackets that I have owned, they are totally comfortable to wear while driving . The material is very lightweight and although toasty warm, you can forget you are wearing it! No adjusting is necessary when getting seated in the car and jacket does not bind anywhere. Having both zipper and snaps is a plus as you can drive with jacket unzippered and snap up quickly getting out of the car. I cannot recommend these jackets highly enough!
