Great looking and warm
PostedDecember 23, 2015
Bought this jacket for ski trip to Colorado and it was perfect! First time I had skied in ten years and I always remember being cold, not this time. Temperature in the teens all day and coat was great. The hood even fit over the helmet that I had to wear.

Beautiful, light and warm!

Have an Ultralite 850 and wanted something for more extreme cold. This jacket is all that and super light! Warm and toasty. Fits true except hood is very large - too long. Don't use a hood much anyway so not a big deal.

Excellent warmth, best for chilly, dry days
PostedDecember 23, 2015
This purchase is my third Ultrawarm purchase; I have a 3/4 in lilac and full length coat in magenta in addition to the jacket.
I am 5'7" and 185lbs, carrying my weight across my torso. I ordered large regular and the fit is fine, not tight in the arms or in the waist.
This jacket is excellent for warmth. I have worn it for a chilly 30 degree night with a sweater and a 40 degree afternoon with a t shirt and it kept the areas it covered warm.
I have worn this jacket in the rain using an umbrella and the description is accurate in that it is "water resistant;" this jacket is not water proof. The outside lining may not be meant to be used for overly wet or sopping conditions, at least in my experience with my other Ultrawarm coats. While the material doesn't leak, it might not be the best for rain or getting wet. For all things snow, sleet, or winter sport related, I use my LLBean Wildcat Jacket or my LLBean Penobscot Parka #which I don't think they make anymore.#
I ordered this jacket in Paperwhite, which is also the color of my Penobscot Parka. The color is beautiful and I got it specifically to use when walking home at night from work, as my Wildcat jacket is black. One thing to note, I happened to be on the phone at my desk looking at my coat hanging on the back of a chair and I thought I saw a paisley print on the jacket. At first I thought LLBean had put some snazzy pattern under the outside material; this ended up being the feathers that make up the down. That being said, the paperwhite color appears slightly "see-through." And white being white, you have to take care to keep it clean; I have a gray smudge on the sleeve and all I did was rub up against a railing. I'm working on taking it out.
Overall, I highly recommend this jacket.
