I ordered a small an it was a size too big. But on the plus side I can wear several layers under it and still feel comfortable. I ordered periwinkle and the color is not what is pictured. It looked more like an ice blue. Nope its bright perwinkle. Also the tag says it can be machine washed and dry. When I washed it the down was really beaten down. Hoping it will fluff back up so far it hasn't.

I ordered this coat twice. I tried on the medium reg. in an outlet store near us. I am 5'1" and 137 pounds and this coat was way too big. So I ordered it in small regular. Still too big. I was skeptical about getting an xs or a just a small but in the petite, so I called customer service for more specific measurements, and they were SO helpful! I ended up ordering the xs regular, and it is perfect! I even got the white color and it's not too marshmallow-y. Sleeves are perfect, and the bottom that others have said is too wide, seems perfect to me in this size and allows for sitting on the chairlift and in the car - as well as the two way zipper, which seems to be a rarity in other coats I've looked at this year. Very well constructed, it is puffy - but I am going for warmth! Love the fur collar, and it's not a sticky lining - slides right on over sweater. Length for me is great for skiing, comes to mid-butt, so with my ski pants should be toasty warm. Price is reasonable, especially for a washable coat - essential in white. For some reason, the chalk blue is on sale in clearance and in the outlets, available in medium and large and xl only, so if that's your size, check the sale page if you like that color. PS: never wrote a review before for Bean, - that's how much I love this coat!
This is a warm and very well made jacket, but I had trouble with the sizing. I am 5'10" and 135 lbs, and the medium was too tight, especially through the arms. I exchanged for the large, and it has too much room in the torso. If there was more shaping or a drawcord at the waist, i could live with the bulky fit. Otherwise, I love the color and it's nice that the fur trim is removable.
L.L.Bean calls this jacket a 'relaxed fit' which means that it runs about one size larger than you'd expect. It is also MUCH wider at the hip than at the chest, so cold air gets in. IF the hemline had an adjustable drawcord that would have solved the problem, but it does not. Also, the jacket only comes to the hip/seat, so your thighs get cold.
Another thing to consider is the color you choose. I chose a fairly bright Raspberry color which, combined with the fluffy fur ruff, made me look like a preschooler. At 55, that's not really the look I'm after! If you're considering this jacket and you're over 10 years of age, I'd suggest getting it in a darker/more subdued color.
Pro's: Very well made jacket. Good value for the price. Nice attention to details (could use hemline drawcord though). Washes/dries easily and continues to look good. Feathers do not poke out of jacket. Warm (see con's below).
Con's: Too roomy thru hips, lets cold air in. Jacket comes just to hip, so thighs and legs remain cold. Overall style of jacket, combined with rasperry color, looks too juvenile.
