While I found the coat to be of excellent quality fabric and workmanship, the cut was quite fitted and without any ease through the hips. Didn't work for me, so I returned this item.
I received that raincoat for my birthday. I did ask for it...and I am glad I did. The fit is perfect, very comfortable without bulky oversize feel and look. I am a size 18 - 20 and the 2X is perfect with a medium weight sweater or lighter. The red is a true red color. The lining is nice to probably around 20 F degrees and is easy to remove and put back. It is definite my new go to coat for both dog walking, shopping and everything but a formal affair.
I like this coat a lot. I first bought it in red but had to return it because for some reason the sleeves were not water repellant. I got another one in plum and it doesn't seem to have the same problem. I wish the sleeves had the same wool lining that the body does. I need to wear a fleece jacket under it when it gets wet and chilly in the Oregon winter. I love the hood for when I am walking the dogs in the rain, so much easier than wearing a hat that blows off.
This is a perfect raincoat for rainy Seattle, where I live. I commute by bus and this coat keeps me warm and dry. The longer length and hood cover well, the periwinkle color is bright enough that drivers can see me and the lining zips out for spring when it warms up, but still raining. The fit is roomy enough to accomodate heavy blazers and sweaters and still be comfortable. I've had mine for a couple of years now and it's worn well. When it gets dirty, I just toss it in the wash.
