This was perfect for a trip to Alaska in September. It was comfortable even on the days that didn't rain, the fabric is breathable and not stiff or crinkly. It kept me completely dry. I did need to wear a fleece underneath when we were cruising near glaciers and whale watching, so I got the petite large instead of the medium so that I could layer extensively (I'm 5'2, 140 lbs.).
I love my raincoat. I purchased the bottle blue which was very nice. I am 5'2" and weigh 150 lbs. The medium fit well even with a sweater set underneath. I left the wooI liner in. I wore it to a trip to Alaska June/July. It absolutely kept the wind out and I appreciated the hood when a wind came up while sightseeing. It is light weight and did not wrinkle. I highly recommend it.
I think this raincoat replaces the coats (3/4 and full-length) that were offered a few years ago. Those had the cape sewn on the back and a heavier weave poly fabric. I still wear my old full length coat purchased a few years ago, but it is getting very worn on the cuffs/edges. I was hoping to replace it with the same coat (only the 3/4 style). I am a little disappointed with this new version. The cut is different, runs smaller in the shoulder/underarm/sleeves and felt tight. I needed to return it and order a size up. (A raincoat HAS to be comfortable.) Consequently the body is much bigger than I would like, but is OK. I would recommend this coat, but with cautions about the fit. For style, liked the longer pleated vent like the previous coats and the cape. If you own an older llbean raincoat, please notice that this is not the same coat. Thanks.
I knew I would like this coat when I ordered it, because I already own one, except it is full length. The coat fits perfectly with or without the lining. I wanted the lining for when the weather is cooler. It's great to have a pocket for my cell phone!
