I have been looking for a midlength raincoat for a while. This one is everything I wanted in the fit, style, and color (blue). It's the type of coat that I'll wear for many, many years.
I wore the coat today for the first time in a heavy rain. Very water repellant. Love the feel of the material - very soft. It doesn't make any noise when you move in it like a lot of other raincoats. Very nice styling.
I bought the long version of this coat about 8 years ago. It was indestructible, looked classy, the fabric draped well and the coat and fit comfortably over jackets or sweaters. I recently decided to add the short version to my wardrobe but the fabric and fit both seemed different. The fit seemed tighter across the shoulders, and the fabric was less flexible. It also had an unpleasantly rubber-like feel. I returned the coat because I didn't like it compared to the older version. It's still a well-made and useful coat, just not what I really wanted. NOTE: My long coat had the wool lining. It is useless, and fussy to zip in or out. If you buy the unlined version and wear a fleece or sweater for insulation, you will be warmer and save some $$.
I purchased this coat on sale a few weeks back. I got caught in a torrential downpour. Everything was soaked except what this coat was covering. I'm 5' 2" and petite. The XS fits like a glove. It's a plus that he coat is not boxy as I thought it might be. The only complaint I have is when the liner is in, the sleeves sometimes pull out of the coat when I'm taking it off. Would like to see the liner sleeves be a little more secure.
