This raincoat is well constructed and quite versatile with the zip out liner and removable hood. There is plenty of room in the shoulders and chest, but short in space around the hips. The zipper and snaps are sturdy and there is a cell-phone pocket in the interior of the jacket. The exterior pockets are a little difficult to access, but that is probably a safety function. I just wish that the jacket was a little more generous around the hips. Otherwise, it's great! Oh! And next time I wouldn't get a black one becuase it shows everything even tho the fabric is nylon.
I ordered the trailmodel rain coat and found it too light and it looked boxy on me. Then I ordered this coat. It was exactly what I was looking for. I usually go from the house to the car (I'm not a hiker or anything) this is comfortable and warm and the bottle blue is beautiful, I know this coat will last me for years. First time buying at LL Bean, the ordering in return were very easy and hassle free. I will probably order again.
I am usually happy with LLbean items but not this one. It is not warm enough (even though most reviews said it is) because the inner top is only linen lined and the inner bottom wool is very thin. I think it is too pricy for a 'raincoat' only. I plan to return it.
I have an H2OFF wool-lined full length coat I bought several years ago that has proved excellent for the icy cold wet sleety weather we get in Southeast Alaska. I wear it thru 3 seasons. I wanted a shorter version, so of course I got the new model H2OFF wool-lined coat. But this version's lining is not warm enough. It has excellent water repellency, but just does not live up to it's predecessor as a coat to wear in COLD wet weather. I had to get a fleece jacket to wear under it. I also preferred the styling of the older version, with the front and back rain flap trench-coat styling.
