My daughter needed a good warm raincoat for cold very heavy rain in NYC that doesn't make her look fat and they don't sell good ones in Seattle because we basically don't wear raincoats, har har. Or use umbrellas. Well, Daughter liked this one, even though she is 25 and a hipster. Went for the sage.
I love everything I have ordered from Bean but I would rate this with 10 stars if that rating was available. There are so many details in this coat: two pockets concealed in the lining--one for a cell phone and another for other small necessities. The shell lining is sewn in throughout the entire inside, including the hem line. There is reinforcement sewn in the top of the hood keeping it from drooping in heavy rain; the hood has concealed pulls to draw it close to the head. The hood can be removed easily with snaps but what remains can be concealed with a flap. A tab near the bottom of the sleeves can be tightened with another snap to keep air/rain out. The more I inspected this garment, the more I found. You have thought of everything!
I read previous reviews before purchasing this coat, so I was pretty sure I would like it. I LOVE it!! The fit is perfect (I went up a size), and it really cuts the wind. Not quite as warm as I'd like, but since I have a slightly bigger size there is plenty of room for bulkier sweaters or fleece top underneath. The hood is plenty big to cover my curly, long hair. This is a great coat!
