I purchased this raincoat on sale in black. The styling is attractive and not bulky. I prefer the snap closure front because it allows just a snap or two on a misty or drizzly day. This coat is classy looking and works for city as well as outdoors. I was concerned it might be too heavy for travel, but it's an ideal weight and will work for cooler weather travel with a sweater or fleece underlayer. The hood is a little big, but can be adjusted smaller. I usually order a medium in LL Bean jackets and this jacket in a medium is true to size. It's received enthusiastic compliments - a real winner.
I bought this coat for my daughter who walks to school every day in Europe where it rains all winter long. Her first one soaked through from the daily rain downpours. But now no matter how heavy the rain (and it can really rain there), she is dry, dry, dry. She loves the long length because it keeps her dry all over. Only the tips of her pants get wet. She wears a small but I bought the medium so she can add layers during the winter. The windproof material also helps to keep her warm. I paid full price and consider it worth every penny. No umbrella necessary with this raincoat!
I had the older version of this coat and the new one is even better. The 3/4 length is keeps you much drier than jacket length. A light weight polar fleece underneath can make this an all season coat. I have traveled extensively with this coat and it's perfect - lightweight, wind resistant, warm - it's the only one I take.
I received this raincoat two weeks ago, and fell in love immediately. It's everything I need - the fit is great - I am plus-size, with an apple shape - and short, and ordered a 2X which has room for a sweater underneath. It's pouring here today and I wore it for a walk and stayed comfy and dry. Finally - my perfect raincoat.
