This coat is perfect for 3 seasons. Light enough for spring or fall and with a sweater under for winter. I bought the bottle blue and while a bit lighter than show, still a great color. LL Bean really gets it by putting in a 2 way zipper. Great when getting in and out of the car. Love the interior pockets. The 3/4 lenght is perfect with slacks or pants. The quality of this coat is top notch and well worth the price.
I just returned from 10 days in rainy, windy Scotland and I am so pleased with the performance of this coat I decided to add my review. The 3/4 length is exactly what I needed on the windy Isle of Iona, and exactly what I needed on the rainy Isle of Skye. I even looked great on a sunny cool day quaffing a wee dram at the distillery tour! I paired it (on the advice of another reviewer) with the Comfort Fleece 1/4 zipper pullover and the combination was really all I ever needed. I do agree with several reviewers that the zipper is hard to get started and I don't know why. I took some bar soap and rubbed it over the zipper teeth and that has helped a lot. If you don't want to use the zipper you can just use the snaps, but I was glad I was zipped when that huge wave cave up to the SECOND deck of the ferry and got everyone all wet.
I had bought this coat in black, full length and I have loved it so much I felt I had to take advantage of the 20% off to purchase another. I desperately needed a raincoat for errands and walking and this is the one. I don't always want to carry a purse so the interior zip and flap pocket are perfect for cell phone and ID. The deep outside pockets hold everything else I might wish to carry. The length is great, the bottle blue cheery. This coat makes you happy to wear it.
