There's a review below from Seattle that I agree with 100%. I had bought this coat in the previous style years and years ago, and wore it constantly, including taking it with me on trips to England in the winter. I loved the coat. The fabric was a little softer, there was a drawstring around the waist so you could cinch it to give it more shape and keep out drafts, and there were 2 convenient zip pockets inside. And there was a cape-looking thing which I liked for styling and for tucking my hands under.
I ordered the new coat because I felt that my old one was really starting to show its age. I wore the new one just one time and realized with great disappointment that I could not live with the changes: the waist that doesn't cinch, the narrower cut, the stiffer material, the cell phone pocket inside but no zippered flat pockets. I returned it and will have to live with the old coat for awhile longer. I didn't notice the changed sleeve linings because I never tried it, but not buttoning into place as the old coat did would be very annoying.
I hope the old styling or at least something closer to it comes back.
It was a 1 star for me, but I gave it 2 stars, because technically it does fulfill its advertised functions.
Everything about the coat is wonderful! The size, the length, the wool lining, the hood. It's much more versatile than any raincoat I've ever owned and it's a style that won't look outdated years from now.
