What can I say? I've purchased from time to time several items from L L Bean and haven't been disappointed yet. I took this coat to Europe (England & Slovenia & Italy) recently and it was just the right coat. I had the option of using the lining or not. One day it was really warm and really cool the next day. I also purchased 2 other coats from L L Bean but haven't had a chance to wear them yet. I hope to do so soon.
This coat is a great fit, and I love the way it falls almost to my ankles! The long length keeps my slacks dry when the wind blows the rain. Sizing can be a problem at times for me, as I am a size large in the waist/hip area and a medium in the bust. However, I ordered this coat according to bust-size, and the relaxed fit of the coat fits my hips just fine. Thank you LLBean!!
I just wore this raincoat for the first time recently and received many compliments. It's comfortable, stylish, practical and the colors are great. I considered the shorter version, but am so happy about this trench coat.
The coat looks fab online but upon receipt I found that the fit is not a true A-line. While it is okay across the chest, the remainder of the coat skims the hips allowing no play in the plastic-like fabric. If you are towards the top of the LLBean range in chest size but your lower half does not (alas) conform REALLY CLOSELY to that size chart, the coat will be uncomfortable and not fit.
