I've had this raincoat for many many years and it's still waterproof. I wear it when I need to feel dressed up, usually with business attire or a skirt. The liner is easy to remove and reattach, making it a very versatile coat. Two minor complaints: The hood is too large and falls forward into my face, limiting my vision. It would be better if the hood were adjustable. Also, the coat is rather shapeless and might look better if it came with a belt to tie around the waist. Aside from these two things, the coat keeps me warm and dry in light showers to torrential rain.
I travel quite a bit around the country and always peek at the local dept stores only to be further impressed with what you get for your money at Bean. This coat is a perfect example of the type of outerwear that wears far better than so much junk dept stores sell.
I just spent a few unexpectedly cold and rainy May days in New York City. My raincoat was all I needed to get me through the pouring rain and splashing taxis. No need for a purse with the great hidden pockets for the cell phone and essentials. I was kept completely dry, warm and unencumbered thanks to this great raincoat.
I do love this coat. It's stylish and really does keep you dry. I've gotten compliments every time I've worn it. I do, however have one "But." But what is the problem with the zipper?? It is always difficult. It does not slide easily. It takes multiple attempts before I can close it. The zipper looks perfectly fine and I can see no defect in it, but it simply does not work the way a quality zipper should.
