I have been wanting and needing a new trench coat. I have had this one in black forever and was anxious to get another one more for the spring. I was so EXCITED to find this on sale because I wouldn't buy any other one except this type from L.L.Bean. Just some input-it - does run on the larger side so if you are a small small will be big enough for heavier clothing uinderneath.
Perfect length, perfect color, perfect style, BUT the zipper is a pain and I am entertaining the thought of returning it because of that. The same coat with another zipper might be o.k.
I wish I had bought this coat for myself, but I bought it for my daughter, who really didn't care for it. It was too large for me, so I had to send it back. It was well made and looked like it would have remained a classic. It was a little more than I would have paid normally for a garment of this type, but looked like it would have lasted a while.
Don't try putting anything in the pockets, or you'll have some chore trying to get the zipper to engage! The smaller pockets and shorter aritificial zipper make it next to impossible. What have you done to this coat? The one I had before had a longer metal zipper and much larger pockets. No problem getting it to zip. PS This coat (2X) is one size larger than my previous coat (XL).
