I had loved the older version of this coat -- wore it everywhere and in all kinds of weather. But the wool lining on this one isn't nearly as warm as the old one, which was my favorite part of the previous coat. And the section that fastens under the chin is very stiff and uncomfortable. Also, the hood was waaay too big. In addition -- and this isn't Bean's fault, of course -- I made a mistake in ordering a regular instead of a petite -- the sleeves on my old petite weren't quite long enough -- but although the sleeves are fine, the length of the regular coat is too long for someone 5-foot-4.
If this coat weren't so expensive, I would give it 3 stars. But for the price, it was a big disappointment. Can't decide if I want to have it altered or just look for a new one elsewhere.
Great coat. Got this coat for raining mornings while waiting for the train. With the hood I don't have to use an umbrella which just gets in the way of others on the platform. I had a guy asked me this morning where I got this coat so of course I told him and showed him the nice wool lining.
Bought this coat on a whim, I wasn't really looking for a rain coat, but what a great buy. I already had a dressier trench, but this is much more practical. I can wear it w/ just about anything, and not just for rainy weaather. Very warm and comfortable. I am only 5ft and 110lb and the petite small is perfect, not too long, I can wear it w/ heals or flats. Attractive fit, not "bag like" at all. The zipper could use some tweaking, but from someone who is a clothes horse this is a great addition to any wardrobe!
Fantastic coat! Just exactly what I was looking for. This coat has a zipper and buttons and is long enough to keep my legs dry in the heaviest rain. It also has a hood, which I don't know if I will use, but it is a nice feature to have.
