This coat is what I wanted. It has a pleat to allow a full stride walk; light and roomy enough to fit over my work clothes; hood that stays put and the lining for the extra cool days. Suggestions for improvement? Well, I like the muted red but wow, would love a real red coat. And maybe an alternative lining for really cold days.
I received the coat just in time to wear it during a cold wintry rain, and it was so comfy, cozy and impervious to water, that I was completely delighted with it. The same day i wore it, I encountered a friend wearing the same coat, also new to her, in a different color. That speaks for the good taste we both share!
My endorsement is that I have this coat in two lengths and multiple colors. I can throw it in the back of my car and it doesn't get wrinkled. I always purchase with the wool lining, shedding the lining for spring and early fall, but reinserting for winter. Perfect for Oregon weather -- I much prefer the hood to carrying an umbrella (which doesn't work well when the rain is blowing sideways). This coat always keeps you perfectly dry (so long as you fasten it up like your mother told you).
