"I can't be happier with this bed. It's replacing an old kennel that was in our dining room. I thought our 55 lb. Golden Retriever was going to pass out from anxiety when we were moving things around. She actually slept in it the first night! That's amazing since she normally sleeps with my son in his bed! I purchased the large since she likes to sleep on her side with ther legs extended. Worth every penny!"

Great dog bed,

"Great dog bed. My golden is 75 pounds, so I purchased the extra large bed, as recommended. It's too big! I probably should have gotten the medium or large. The upside is that it's big enough for me to sleep with her when my husband is snoring... really. The extra large is almost as big as a twin bed. Reserve that size for multiple dogs or REALLY big dogs. Other than the size issue, this is a great dog bed!"

"I've been owned by doggies of different breeds for over 30 years. I've been around the block and spent a year's salary or more on dog beds that ended up sitting in the corner looking pretty while my dog lounged on the couch. Without much hope but enticed by the rave reviews and a desire to see my husband released from his two-couch-cushion prison, I decided to give this bed a try. My basset hounds LOVE it!! For the first time in 5 years, my boys are voluntarily preferring their bed to our sofa. We've had the beds for almost a year and they look like the day the arrived. The stuffing is standing up to 20 hrs. a day of 70 lb. basset napping without a dent. If you've every smelled a hound, you know that I've got to wash the cover once a week. No excuses. This is the first cover I've used that has been able to hold up to the agitator longer than a month. It looks exactly the same almost a year later, no fading, no frayed seams. Dog hair disappears on this cover. You can run an vacuum over it for mid week clean up. I've never written a product review in my life but I had to share my experience with this dog bed. Do yourself a tremendous favor, don't bother buying anything else and treat yourself to a nice nap on the empty sofa."

"This bed has been wonderful. The dog took to it immediately which was great having a 90 lb chocolate lab in bed with us was just getting too cramped. The bed is made of a good quality canvas and the filling seems to hold up very well. The bed has not flattened out out appear smushed after use which many other beds do. I would fefinately recomment this."

"I'm now taking over his bed. I bought this bed since both my dog and I have been disappointed with other pet store bought beds. He's a 95 pound, active dog and the large was plenty big for two of him. I placed it in front of the wood stove and find myself even snuggling in there to use it. It's so comfy!! He has now snuffed trying to get onto the couch and beds in the house and doesn't lay down anywhere else. I've had it for two months and his attitude towards it hasn't changed. Other friends have been convinced and purchased it as well. Great product for the money!"

"I checked the pet stores and department stores for a good bed for my aging dog. Everything seemed so cheap. Went to the local LL Bean store and found just want I wanted. They didn't have my color so I ordered it online at the store. Ordered on Monday and received on Thursday. For a few $ more I got twice the quality. Hasn't been in the house 15 minutes and my dog is sound asleep on it. The large is bigger than I expected. My granddaughter loves to snuggle up with the dog and there is plenty of room for her too. The denim cover can be vacuumed at the same time as the floor. The insert is thick and doesn't flatten out. Will be ordering the furniture protector to match."

"Our greyhound Bella is pretty spoiled - 3 beds, her own ottoman, and a deluxe, comfy crate. Besides the crate, she loves her LL Bean the most. She circles from her bed to where we are to coax us into the living room. The cover is American made and does not reek of polyester like most other dog beds. The loden color matched nicely with our living room rug. I will definitely buy the wicked good bed next."

"I purchased this bed for my English Springer spaniel, who refused to use it. However, after changing the household rules and no longer allowing him to be on our bed or the couches, it's practically impossible to get him off his bed! I bought a large, which is the perfect size for my 60lb dog when he stretches out to sleep on his side. The only thing he doesn't like is the fleece top ... so we flipped the bed over and he's loved it ever since. It's great! The cover washes beautifully, is easy to put back on, and vacuums well too between washings. I'm thinking about buying a 2nd non-fleece-top one for him, so I don't have to tote this one between the bedroom and living room every morning and every evening!"

"You can buy Fido an inexpensive, lesser quality bed, but why waste time and money? I have two rambunctious dogs who not only sleep on their bed but jump, wrestle, fight, and play on it - and it has lasted for years! Easy to wash and reassemble, with a quality insert/cushion that wipes down and does not absorb moisture. Very durable, very comfortable, very worth every penny. I am buying a second for more doggie comfort in my all-tile home."

"My 70-pound chocolate Lab started destroying "indestructable" beds when she was only 9 weeks old! One cost me over $250 and it took her all of one day to chew through it and pull out half the stuffing. But, when I bought this bed, she met her match. Yes, she could probably chew a hole in it if she wanted to, but she doesn't want to. I guess it's just too comfortable for her to destroy! She scratches it until I think she will end up in China, but there's never a hole or tear. I have had it for over 3 years now, washed it repeatedly, and it still looks new. I am ordering my second one to put in the living room. Maybe it will get her off my sofa! :-)"

"I have a Portuguese Water Dog puppy, Bella, who is approaching her 11 month birthday. PWD puppies, like so many breeds, are "mouthy" dogs that love to chew and shred. Mine destroyed several other brands of dog beds and pads, all advertized as sturdy and teeth-resistant. After I bought the L.L.Bean Premium Denim Dog Bed, Bella's bed-shredding career was over. I purchased a medium, which has ample room to accommodate a 50+ pound dog. Bella has clawed at the tough bed cover without tearing it. She has tried to grab the fabric in her mouth and can't snag it. Subsequently, Bella gave up her efforts to demolish the dog bed. She loves to plop onto it for a good night's sleep. This bed has been in use for over 6 months and looks brand new. The cover zips off easily for laundering. It comes out of the dryer without shrinkage or fraying. The cover's zipper is located on the long side of the rectangular model, which makes replacing the soft pad a quick and easy procedure. The zipper is tucked out of sight and covered by a tough flap of fabric, protecting it from doggy teeth. And both the pad and cover can be ordered separately, which is very convenient if the need to replace either component ever occurs. I have purchased dozens of excellent L.L.Bean products over the decades. This dog bed wins the prize for durability and function. I am about to order a small dog bed from this same line for Bella's crate, which she uses as an open door, come-and-go kennel in the garage when I am not at home. Even if she decides to drag the pad out of her crate and into the yard, I am sure that the L.L.Bean Premium Denim Dog Bed will stand up to any lingering mischievous impulses!"

"We purchased the fleece top dog bed five days ago. Prior to this, our dog wandered the house after 'lights out' and when he did retire to his bed, would shift and moan and sigh. Now with his LL Bean Bed, he loves bedtime, goes willingly and sleeps the whole night through! He even 'goes to bed' on his LLB for daytime naps. My only complaint is that his energy level is ramped way up - he's too well rested after a week with his new bed! ;) We spent more money that we wanted to for a dog bed but in the end we are very pleased!"

"I have an dog who has the habit of digging and tearing his bed around - he likes to "fluff" the pillows, which causes cheaper beds to tear, blankets to spread all over, etc. I bought him this dog bed and not only does it hold up to his scratching and chewing, he doesn't feel the need to do that as much because he finds it comfortable.
He is 65 lbs, has a size Medium and there is plenty of room for him to sprawl out.
The cover washes great, has been washed a half a dozen times and looks like new. The bed itself doesn't harbor smells like cheaper beds. I couldn't ask for anything more!"
