I read every review before I bought this and I have not had any of the problems stated earlier. Assembly was easy, looks like they may have corrected the mislabeled items. This is in our entry way and it is working out great! I do wish it came with more hooks (2 per cubby) but adding more on my own was easy. I have four little kids, and so this should last for a while, I can see the older kids growing out of it in a couple of years because of the size, not a big deal.
We have greatly enjoyed using the cottage locker. It is perfect for young children. They throw their shoes in and put their coats on the hooks. Mittens and hats go up on the top shelf in the handy canvas inserts. But therein lies the only problem. We just had our third child and wanted to get a third canvas insert (as still pictured on the website!) and found that they had been discontinued. The locker's utility is not quite the same without it!
This was an invaluable purchase. I have two boys who love to drop everything when they come home from school, sports, etc. This made all the difference. They "drop" everything right in there (the cubbies are fantastic--hold pencils, mouth guards, etc.). Most importantly, it's durable!!!!
This is a sturdy, high-quality piece of furniture. It was relatively easy for my husband to put together. He's not the handiest guy in the world but had it put together in about an hour. There is room in each cubby for a child's coat, backpack and enough room on the bottom for a couple of pairs of shoes. We are very happy with this locker.
