"Recently my miniature schnauzer started having some health problems and unfortunately it caused him to leak urine on his bed. I knew I could machine wash the cover, but it said in the instructions that I could only spot clean the polyester filled cushion. Obviously, that wasn't going to help in this case. Since I had nothing to lose I decided to soak it in the bathtub in cold water overnight.
The next morning I drained the water and propped the cushion up against the side of the tub. When I checked several hours later most of the cushion had dried except for the bottom edge so I rotated the cushion and left it for another few hours.
It is now completely dry and looks and feels like new. Meantime, I've washed and dried the cover. It might not be the perfect solution, but I'm very happy with the results and so is the dog!"

"Three years ago, we adopted a lab/bulldog mix who is stocky (about 85 pounds). He preferred to sleep on the feather-filled parlor couch (off-white!!) until I purchased an XL round dog bed for him. NO MORE COUCH! The bed is big enough for two dogs but, other than that, it is a great investment. I just bought a rectangular one (in L) in fleece for him as he is now 10 and the blanket on carpet solution downstairs is not comfy enough for his old bones. Well-worth the price! Easy to wash (his bed gets changed out weekly) and replace cover. Highly recommend!!"

"Highly recommend the denim bed. My grey uses hers for a toy - wrestles with it, drags it around with her teeth, and NO rips in the denim. The zipper is very sturdy and works well even after washing once a week for over a year. The filling in the insert stays fluffy and un-lumpy much longer than other beds. I have recommended this bed to my local Greyhound Pets of America chapter for hounds waiting for adoption."

"The quality of these beds are great. Our dogs love them! They're so much sturdier than dog beds we've had in the past. The cover is so durable and the khaki color hides pet hair wonderfully. We ordered two large beds for our greyhounds - both big dogs - and wish we had gone with the medium instead. The two of them fit comfortably on one with room to spare. Other than the size issue - two thumbs up on the beds!"

"I have been through at least 4 recommended pet beds for my now 18 month old beagle. I thought for sure this one was the answer. The fabric is very strong, but she had the zipper destroyed in a matter of a few hours.
I wish they would make them with velcrove instead of zippers. I think that would be the answer for dogs who like to take things apart."

"We have five LL Bean dog beds and two of them, plus 4 covers, we have had since 1984! Over the years, we have had dogs who have passed away and their beds have been passed on to "new" dogs. We currently have five dogs and each one as their favorite. The fleece top covers are favorites of theirs in the colder months. These are the best!! Great investment!"

"Ordered this bed hoping it would fit in our cockapoo's kennel where she sleeps every night. It fit perfectly. We have bought her a new bed every year for 4 years because they seem to pill up after a couple of washes or get torn up from use. With the removable, washable cover and heavy duty fabric, I doubt we'll have to replace this one for a long long time."

"The bed is great and the dog loves it, but it takes up a lot of floor space. My dog is about 70 pounds, so we went with the large. I wish we'd gotten one size smaller, at least. He takes up one little corner of the bed, and it is kind of in the way much of the time. The specs should be changed. I see we're not the only ones who bought a bed that was bigger than needed."

"Great bed, high quality etc. My choc lab loves this - she is about 80-85 lbs, so I got the XL. Granted I should have gotten out the tape measure and mapped out how big it was, but instead went by the spec guidelines built on dog weight. It is enormous and could fit 3 dogs her size. So, I'd buy it again, but would get the large for her next time."

"We have a 10 week old 18 lb lab, and we bought the large knowing she'll be about 50 - 60 lbs. Of course, she swims in it right now, but she absolutely adores it. She naps, chews her rawhide, and relaxes there. It's in the living room in view of the kitchen so she feels part of the action.
She does tend to scratch and chew it, but the material is very heavy and sturdy. We do correct her and give her the rawhide to discourage her from destroying the cover. We also doused the edge that was her favorite place to chew with Bitter Apple.
Definitely get the bed that is for your full sized dog even if the pup is young. She's not fully housebroken, but I'm confident it's not so huge that she'll mess it up.
She's crate trained and is happy enough to sleep in her crate (and will at night forever), but during the day for naps she jumps right on her bed and snores away.
One thing, the stitching on the embroidery isn't as sturdy as the bed itself. If you have a chewer, I'd recommend getting it nameless.
You and your dog will love this bed!"

"The bed is a perfect size for my 7# Chihuahua. It took her no time to begin sitting on it. She loves scratching the fleece top. The fabric is soft, cushiony, and a nice neutral color. Her name looks great on it! It appears to be extremely durable which is one of the main reasons that I bought it. We are both happy with the purchase."

"Sadly, not for my Chessie. My six year old chessie chews through everything. I have tried everything. I have made my own covers and double covered dogs beds - with outdoor durable material even - but, to no avail. I was really, really hoping this bed would work out for us after reading through some of the reviews. We bought the round bed - thinking that it would be harder for her to chew through a corner if there was no corner to chew through. Great, in theory ... no luck. She still chewed through it. However, that being said ... I love this bed. The cover comes off easily and can be washed. It is pretty heavy so it cannot be dragged around the house. This bed would probably be beloved by most dogs - just not mine."

"Our doggies' beds were getting pretty ratty and I wanted to replace them with something durable that could be easily cleaned. I ordered 2 of the LL Bean premium 23" round denim dog beds for our Sheltie and Spaniel mix. They took to them right away. We use them in our bedroom where they sleep at night. In the day they can be easily stored on top of one another when not in use. The cover has a zipper and can be removed from the cushion to be washed. This is a nicely made, durable, and easily cleanable product and it came pretty quickly. Perfect!!!"

"I bought this for my very old and cherished Chocolate Lab. She loved it - her eyes were as big as saucers when she saw it. It was hard to get her off of it. She's since passed, and our new puppy is in the process of earning the great dog bed. Great quality and materials. I washed the cover a dozen times and it looks new. Great item!"
