The collar seemed to create a funnel around my neck that would have directed rainfall right down inside the jacket. The jacket was too tight around the hips. Some of us have the misfortune to be a bit pear-shaped. Next size up would result in shoulder/neck area being too bulky, and this jacket's neck area is already too bulky. I haven't been able to buy a simple white shirt button front style blouse because of the tightness around my pear-bulge hip. Don't designers realize it is much easier to take in a garment that may be too loose than it is to add to one that is too tight (Impossible, actually!) I had to return the jacket, even though it was well made and I liked it otherwise. I liked the versatility of the three way function, and great material. Just not a comfortable fit.
I got this jacket in 2007 and have really only worn it to ski in. I recently noticed that along the gramets for the wait draw string - - the jacket is tearing on both sides!! I am completely disappointed in this since I had a Columbia Jacket previously and went to the LLBean b/c of their typically good quality. I will be sending it back needless to say.
I have had this jacket for a little over a year. The other day, the zipper came off the track and into my hand! I use this jacket for work, and other than my problems with the zipper, it has been a great jacket in all types of weather (I work outside everyday). Prior to the zipper coming off, it kept separating at the bottom. For this price it shouldn't be doing this.
I was quite disappointed with this L.L. Bean product. It was extremely difficult to get on and off due to the inner layer (liner). Also, the zipper didn't work easily. Had I read the reviews already posted, I may have thought twice before purchasing!
