Even though this was a bit pricey, I bought it thinking it would be multi-functional and I'd get my money's worth. However, the liner is useless to me. I bought my usual size and had to return it because the liner was skin tight. I reordered the largest size available, and still have trouble getting the fleece liner on over long-sleeved shirts. Forget about trying to wear it with a sweater or sweat shirt! I do wear the outer shell as a raincoat and that is very comfortable and functional. Just not worth the money if only half the jacket is wearable.
I wore this item while in Patagonia during its summer. The weather changes from dry to wet to dry to wet. The wind rarely stops. The outer jacket protected against the rain. The inner jacket helped against the wind. There were times I was glad I had my long underwear on for ad'l warmth & protection vs. the wind. The multi pockets on both items are great for holding gloves, bandannas, etc.
Very satisfied with the Weather Challenger Jacket. I live in Canada & used it in all conditions - the fleece is warm enough at times because it keeps the wind out & takes the away excess moisture. Was going to go with a gortex but decided to try out this jacket instead - excellent choice!
