This is a nice warm jacket, however ANY activity that might produce perspiration and you'll be soaked. I bought this for cross country skiing, and cannot wear the shell at all or I'll be wet and cold. The liner, however is quite warm, breathable, and rather wind-resistant for fleece. I cant wear the liner alone in colder windier weather without getting cold.... so overall, not a great combination. The shell could use some vents. It's essentially the equivalent of a rubber raincoat.
I received this jacket for Christmas 2010. I needed a new multi-purpose, hooded and lined jacket, that I could also where to work at a bank, if it was raining or snowing. I needed it to keep me dry and warm without looking like a "work" coat. I live in Ohio and so far I've been very pleased with how warm it is and how well it handles the wind. I wear it to take the dog out in the snow and rain. It is a great jacket for shoveling snow, allowing the the warmth and movement needed. It can however hang up a little at the cuff when putting it on. All and all I am really glad my husband purchased it for me and would recomend it to others.
This is a great jacket, but it is not as feature rich as I thought. The price point is good for the jacket and it certainly keeps me nice and toasty even in single digit conditions. One pet peeve is the velcro at the top of the jacket keeps scratching my daughter's face as I carry her on the left arm (as most right handers do) and the collar stands a little high for me. Otherwise a nice jacket for the price!
Keeps me very warm. The sleeves are adjustable to keep the cold out and allow for different lengths of gloves to be worn. I have used it in each of the configurations and love all of them. There are two things which prevent me from giving it a 5 star! One is tha it runs a bit tight. I can't wear much under the two layers without having trouble getting the sleeves off. Also for men it doesn't come in black! What is that all about?
