This coat works well as a unit or in parts. Versatile and comfortable for all kinds of weather. It would be better if the zipper could be opened from the bottom for driving a car. Also, I think it's more appropriate for weather 20-30 F degrees above the range you list for it.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I love my new jacket. It fits well, I like the length, it is comfortable, and looks good on my slightly chunky body. The outer rain jacket perferms perfectly as a rain coat in our moisture-laden weather.
One slight problem: The inner jacket sleeves ususally stick to the other clothes I am wearing (like a shirt), and you really have to PULL, or get someone to pull for you, to get out of the sleeves. Very annoying. Maybe you have some suggestions, because I love this jacket otherwise.
I bought this jacket because I was very happy with my bright yellow LL Bean Storm Chaser jacket, but wanted a longer jacket for more coverage. I have to buy men's jackets because the sleeve length in women's jackets is 2" too short. The jacket is very warm and keeps me dry in rain. The length covers down to almost mid-thigh, so I may not need an umbrella on many of my excursions around the yard, across parking lots, etc. Some minor annoyances: The microfleece in the liner really clings to whatever I wear and makes the sleeves of my sweatshirt, sweater, etc. slide up to my elbow or the liner sleeve poke out past the cuff. Maybe this will improve with wear or washing the liner, but for now I have to grab my shirt sleeve when I push my arm into each coat sleeve. I would have preferred yellow, or at least more reflective patches to improve visibility when I'm wearing this jacket out in gray rainy weather. Also, it could really use a double-direction zipper to keep it from bunching up when I am driving. Other than that, it is a very comfortable rain jacket with good coverage and an ample hood which is easily adjustable to the appropriate size and easily accessible in the collar. With the liner in place, this jacket will be warm enough that I will be able to wear it well into late fall / early winter, and bring it out again in late winter / early spring.
