This is my first LL Bean coat, and I must admit that it has pleasantly fulfilled my wish for a durable, quality, value for money jacket. It has large outside pockets (easily large enough for gloves) inside pockets for ease of access, an overall comfortable feel about it, all while allowing for multiple conditions, rain or snow. Thanks for making such a fine product.
This jacket doesn't breathe much, so expect to get sweaty. Since the sleeves of the outer shell are unlined, it's essentially clammy plastic. The one I got is cut smaller than most LL Bean goods, so beware size issues. The zippers are very small-toothed and seem flimsy for outdoor wear. They are hard to manage with cold fingers. And there's no way to open from the bottom up, nor any Velcro strips to hold it lightly closed - zipped or nothing. Overall, this import isn't up to Bean's standards and not good value. There are better options for less.
Recently I just brought a weather challanger jacket from LL Bean, I use it when it gets rain and cold. I sometimes use the fleece liner when it gets cold. When it rains I use them both the shell and the fleece liner. I enjoy the weather challenger jacket.
The Weather challenger is a great Jacket. I wear this jacket in all types of weather. I have had three jcakets so far. I have had a problem with the zippers. If the manafacture could eliminate the the zipper that goes off track I would rate the jacket 5 stars. This jacket needs a durable zipper to be perfect.
