This is an amazing jacket! The material is light weight so it can be worn in moderate temeratures, but also is breatheable in warm weather or warmer with the insert for freezing temps. It has lots of pockets, the hood can be hidden or out. It also looks sporty but not too casual. My husband had his work logo embroidered on it, and everyone comments on how great it looks. A real score for a picky consumer.
It is a jacket and should not be confused with a Parker that is longer and will cover more of the body. The fit of the jacket (liner and jacket) tends to be "snug". One should not wear bulky clothing under jacket and liner. Individual jacket and liner when worn separately offers plenty of room. Jacket is comfortable in temperatures that range from teens on up. Really cold temperatures require another kind of coat.
This is a great coat/jacket for me, had a good snowstorm (for Ohio) and it was great for snowblowing the driveway. I really got it for going to Alaska at the end of the tourist season, so it could be either warm or cold. The versitility and light weight will be perfect.
I was able to use this jacket while I traipsed around Japan in cool to cold weather ranging from high 40's to low 60's and this was perfect! I used all three phases of the 3-in-1 concept on different days, some days using both shell and lining, then just shell for drizzly days or just lining for dry, but cool nights. It's easy to pack even when both shell and lining are as one and can work in much colder temperatures when layered beneath it. I highly recommend this jacket for its versatility, comfort, functionality and good looks!
