I travel for my profession between two to three weeks straight a month and this product has served me well for the suitcase life. The '3-in-1' flexibility has been fantastic; the windproof fleece is great by itself, as is the shell. Together they are comfortable without being bulky. The shell could be benefited by a closure at the bottom (such as a snap or button like previous LLBean coats owned) - it tends to flap open slightly with continued wear - but it does not affect functionality. Both have superb waterproof qualities and fit well within the carryon bag. The sizing was true – ordered the next size larger because I was uncertain – as always LLBean folks welcomed my return in exchange for the correct size without delay and without question. I have ordered from LLBean for the last 20 years and will continue to do so for all my future apparel needs.
The title says it all. There weren't enough pockets and the ones it had weren't lined which would make them useless in cold weather. The hood wasn't lined either. The outer shell didn't seem very tough and would rip if caught on a rock or limb.
Great jacket for everyday use. I really like the 3 in 1 system. I like the light weight. Very warm in really cold weather. The liner really keeps the wind out in colder dry windy weather and is sufficiently warm. No water can get in this thing. It's nice the velcro on the sleeve cuff doesn't get stuck on stuff because of the way it is placed. The sleeves are a little difficult to get off with the liner in, I have very large hands. The hood is convienent and really does work. The pockets are spacious. I am 6'7" and took a gamble that it would fit and it remarkably does.
Bought this jacket for my son who is the manager of a football team. Not unusal for him to have to endure inclement weather. He was most impressed with the fact that it was the same jacket used by the reporters from the Weather Channel. The coat has kept him warm and dry.
