I will be returning the new argyle boots I just received. I have worn my old green wellies for 9 years but have a leak in one boot now...boo hoo. They were super comfortable, very flexible. The new boots seem much stiffer and tighter in the leg portion - I can barely stuff my jeans into this new pair and have pain along the seam line of the jeans. Might try green ones again.
I loved the look and feel of this boot, but it was way too skinny at the calf and I don't have large calves. There is no way you could tuck your jeans in - let alone use the warmers. Only the stick skinny people could wear these. Very disappointed. I wanted to sport my L.L. Bean pride in the rain.
I have slightly larger than average calf muscles and the boots are snug at the top. I plan on "trimming" the top down a little so that they fall a little lower. Great protection from the dirt and dew in the morning. Going to get a pair for my mother-in-law who gardens only in the morning.
