I've never had a pair of wellies before, but I made a mess out of another pair of shoes and got poison ivy on my legs a couple months ago. I got these boots for working in the yard and they're excellent - they're waterproof and comfortable.
I live on a mini farm and needed to find myself a pair of boots for trekking around in the wet grass and the muck. Standard muck boots purchased at other stores were sloppy on my feet and flopped up and down. I figured that I would purchase a pair of LLBean Wellies to serve this function... and they work beautifully!! The boot fits my foot well and holds my foot as well as a shoe. The top fits closer on the calf of my leg. They are durable and strong, the fit is great, they keep my feet dry, they are easy to rinse off and to top it off they are really cute!! Nothing like making a statement at the 4H fair! I plan on ordering another pair for myself and a pair for my daughter. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone. These are great! I have a very wooded lot, lots of trees and irregular ground - these keep my feet dry and free of dirt, rocks and little critters as I work outside. My only less than wonderful observation is that I am a half size and the ones I chose do seem a trifle large - but I also have a high instep, so the tradeoff is quite acceptable.
I bought the green wellies in a size 9 which is what I wear, but they were too big. I exchanged them for the navy with polka dots, they fit a little better but are still too big and the boots are a little stiff around the calfs. I am keeping them for their durability in wet weather but I am disappointed in the fit and comfort level.
