If you have legs of any size, these boots are not for you. They are fine around the foot/ankle area but tight around the calf - if you have a larger calf muscle. I by no means have a huge calf muscle but tend to have a hard time finding knee or mid calf boots that are large enough. The boots fit around my calf but were extremely tight causing the bottom part of the boot to buckle. I could never dream of wearing the boots over my jeans.
The quality and design were great, but the boot ran large too. I wear a size 8 and I would have needed a 7 if the boots fit over my calf.
Don't order these boots if you have even slightly large calves - they go all the way to the knee, which wasn't clear to me from the picture, and that buckle on the side is so people with even smaller calves can make the boot tighter - there's no extra stretch or width available if you unbuckle it. Even though I was able to get the boots all the way up, they were so tight at the top that I couldn't tuck pants into them comfortably, and will have to return them. Otherwise the quality of the boot seems good but I'm only giving them one star because I feel like rain boots shouldn't be limited to people with smaller calves, especially coming from LLBean, and if you're going to put that buckle on the side, make it functional in both directions so we can all wear these boots.
Comfortable and functional for my active outdoor life.I have 2 dogs who love to walk no matter the weather-Wellies are warm enough on the coldest of winter days w midweight socks, and perfect in the soggy spring or fall mud...my feet are always DRY!! On a gray day-my Wellies always make me smile!! I can not imagine a dog walker in New England living without them!
