Very happy with this dog bed. Got it on sale so the price was good for a bed this large. The size is perfect for our 85 lb doberman. She usually stresses out if we try to get her to lie down somewhere new (like other than our sofa!) but she took to this bed right away. The color (dusty sage) is even better than expected -- it's kind of more of a mushroom color -- very nice neutral.
Be sure to pay attention to the specs if you order this bed. I have another large bed from Bean's (which I love) and without thinking I ordered the large in this bed, too. The "large" we were sent is actually a medium--the tag on the bed says medium, and it's an appropriate size for a medium dog like a cocker spaniel. Far too small for our golden retriever mix. It's a good quality bed, though, and I was bummed to have to return it.
I ordered this bed for Addie, my female boxer, who weighs a modest 58 pounds, thinking that the small size might work, but to be on the safe side, I ordered the large bed. Even the large size is too small for her. She does not fit inside the oval, leaving one end or the other hanging out. The overall quality of the bed is impressive, but I was sorely disappointed in the fit.
We have a similar bed to this made by another brand that has lasted 8 years and is still in great condition. But, they don't make it anymore and I've been trying to find a similar one to put by the computer in the study (I know, I know, our dog is terribly spoiled with her own bed in every room!). This one is almost an exact match, and in one way, even better--since the pillow is removable and washable. For what you get though, it seems overpriced--the one we own from another company was about $25, and this one set me back $79 (I would definitely get the large size for a dog over 35 pounds, as ours is). That being said, can we really put a price on our dogs' happiness? :)
