We bought this bed for our 5 month old golden retriever puppy. She instantly snuggled into it and became calm, not her usual state these days. It's her safe place and the furniture she is allowed be on. She's quit trying to jump onto the sofa now because she has her own sofa next to us. I was so impressed I bought another one for the office where she joins us during the day. Excellent quality, nicer looking than the photo on the website, and well worth the price!
Bought this last year for my ailing Boston Terrier. It made him so comfortable and after he had to be put down I got another BT. She is now 6 mos. old and one day when my husband went somewhere he came into the house and found foam rubber all over the kitchen. She managed to undo the zipper on the bottom and get the bed out and even ruined the zipper. When she matures I will buy another one as it is a wonderful well made bed.
I initially planned to send this back due to the less-than-displayed dimension of the bed, but my dogs seemed to have the liking of the bed, and started to use it even if they had to sleep like a ball. Wish there was one more size larger. Before you purchase this item for your mid-large dogs, contact LLBean and get the accurate dimension for the whole bed, and for the opening. I'll see if I still like it after I need to wash the cusion.
I am a dog lover with 3 pugs that I purchased these beds for. The cover is great and washes very well but the inserts are made of foam and can't be cleaned and hold all the hair and dirt and smell . I have tired to vaccuum and the hair will just not come out and the smell doesn't go a way. I have left them on the porch over night to air out and that doesn't work . I will be returning them and recommend that you do not purchase this item. I find that the premium dog beds or similar are a better and easier to clean. And have had them for 5 years or more and they are great. I love LLBEAN and its products but this is just one I can't recommend .
