I am 6' 2", 195, athletic build. I bought the medium, regular. It fits beautifully, slightly loose everywhere, except for the wrists. It is cut long, this medium still hangs 5 inches below the top of my belt line, which is perfect to me. It's easy to buy this in sizes that are too big for you, and that will make this shirt look like a nightgown. You want to buy this in the same size as your ll bean T-shirt, if you have one (those are also easy to buy in a size too big), but avoid that tall version, unless you really want to tuck the shirt in. The material of this shirt is sturdy and moderately warm, while still being thin and relative light. It is good looking. It is one of the finest things you can put over a t-shirt, or under a jacket. You won't regret buying one.
FINALLY: something made in North America - even if it is Canada. That being said, the sleeves are wwaayy to long. I am a 32 inch sleeve. These are a 36 to 37 sleeve. Hope it shrinks like all get out. Wash on hot water with high heat setting in the drier. Nice feel to the material. I like the shirt but will not be ordering another.
This was a gift I bought for my particularly "choosy" adult son. Even as a young child, he rarely liked any clothing purchased by others for him for birthdays, Christmas, graduation, etc. And as an adult he's become even more "selective". So imagine my utter disbelief when he came by to tell me how much he loves this shirt, would like to have more in other colors, and that I "finally did good this time". High compliments indeed.
