I received this and after trying the shirt on I will be returning it. The seam that leads from the shoulder to the neck is very irritating pm my neck. I am also not a fan of anything listed as heather.
I really wanted to like this as it is manufactured in Canada instead of an Asian country. I also regret that I wasted a $10.00 certificate by ordering this shirt.
I ordered this shirt in a men's S because I preferred the 50% cotton/40% wool over the women's 90% cotton/10% wool fabric. Unfortunately, it is much too large for a very small woman and I have to return it. LL Bean, I hope you produce the women's river driver's Henley in the same fabric that you produce the men's river driver's shirts.
I have an older version of the river driver shirt that I've been wearing for at least 20 years. It's frayed a bit and has been stitched up here and there, but is still a wonderful shirt. I just bought a replacement and am disappointed. These are the differences I see in the new shirt: 1) the fabric is thicker, 2) the shirt is shorter, 3) the cut is looser. I was using the old river driver as a base layer, under another shirt. But the new one is too short to tuck in (I'm only 5'10") and too bulky to fit under another shirt. I am going to return it. LL Bean, please bring back the old river driver design!
I finally tossed my first river driver shirt - after some 30 years. Although over time it dropped down the ranks from casual to grubby to sleepwear - to the trash, it was always one of the most comfortable I had. I bought a replacement a few months ago - liked it so much I'm getting another.
