I had high expectations from this shirt, especially considering the price. It is advertised as double-layer, warm and comfy. It IS very roomy....I got the usual M for my husband, who is very skinny...he likes roomy, so the fit is okay. But it is THIN. I don't care that they say it has two layers, and some wool in there too...it is a thin shirt, not at all what I expected. Almost my entire casual wardrobe is LL Bean, so I am NOT dissing them. Just the shirt.
Ordered a men's small for a 6' slim man. Washed them once with a light load of cotton clothes and dried them on hot. They were slightly damp when removed from my dryer. Next I washed then with a full load of cords and they dried completely. While I don't doubt they shrunk some they still fit and in our experiece tend to stretch out with wear. I am not recommending you try this, I am just saying this is what I did and it worked for us. Since this is always a layering item maybe fit is not as crucial as for some
Bought one last year and was very satisfied with it so I ordered 3 more while they were on sale. Comfortable wearing and very warm either under/over another shirt. For some reason it took 48 hrs to ship(usually ships within 24 hrs) after ordering item online(in stock) and then it set at the UPS location in Laurel, Md for 4 days. Have run in 36 degree weather with just this and one other shirt and was very comfortable.
Have never had a problem with anything from LL Bean, quality always excellent!
These shirts are AWESOME!! I have purchased three of the crewnecks and two of the henley's. I live in New England and this morning the temp was 0.6 degrees as I headed off to my job at a local hardware store. I had on my LL Bean driver's shirt as my base layer and I was warm all day, whether I was outside filling propane or on the dock unloading a truck. I was also not overheated while working inside the store. Not only are they warm, they are well made and the hem is long enough that it stays tucked in no matter how much I move around, bend or reach. I'm glad LL Bean has free shipping because my size is often out of stock, but I come back and check the page frequently to see if my size is available. When it is, I order and have another shirt in a few days! LL Bean's service and their products are second to none! These shirts are a very important part of my new winter wardrobe at work, at home or on the go. They are a must have!
