Had a family member buy me one of these years ago so I just had to have another and even though it only gets cool enough here in Tucson about 2 weeks out of the year...LOL...it has remained one of my fave shirts as do all of my L.L. Bean wear I have purchased over the years. So well made and just feels like ultimate comfort. Highly recommended.
I know from my previous purchase of a men's river driver shirt that they aren't kidding when they tell you to wash it a few times. The henley started out stiff, scratchy at the neck, and with a somewhat odd fit at the neckline. All that's gone. It's now it's one of the warmest, most comfortable shirts I own.
Wish they used the same fabric for the women's river driver. The men's has considerably more wool in it, so it's a lot warmer.
I guess I did not realize that it should not be dried in the dryer. My husband suffers from being very cold a lot of the time and I thought this would add extra warmth, but he did not see any difference from a regular ll bean long sleeved tee shirt which he wears all the time. We have short sleeve for summer and long for winter. Ok, but not worth the extra money.
