Not as thick as the river drivers of old, but this shirt seems to be soft and warm out of the package. Time will tell if it is as durable as the old ones. The cut of the shirt is good for an athletic build and is not so baggy that it bunches or drapes strangely.
Awesome shirt I have 2 more of these shirts in my closet that are at least 5-7 years old and are still in terrific shape.I buy LLBEAN clothes because they are of the highest quality and comfort.
Love these shirts. Warm without being heavy or bulky, soft on the inside, and kind of stretchy. Beautiful colors, too. They aren't cheap but I think they're worth it. Plus I hear they last forever. I just wish L.L. Bean wasn't out of them in my size all the time.
This shirt is styled more like a sweatshirt than anything else, at least the gray one that I bought is. It's also snug in Large, the size of more than a dozen LL Bean shirts that I have. None of them are snug. It's also quite thin, not what you'd expect for the two layers. I'll be returning it.
