Our first 2 critter rolling backpacks held up for 4 years including 3 Canadian winters with 2 wild boys. We finally replaced them because one of the telescoping handles got jammed in the closed position and the boys had dragged them around with the backpack straps out. The new one is even better with the flashing wheels!
We were thrilled to receive this backpack! It is a family favorite and rite of passage in my house. Each of my children get one when they start first grade and it lasts for years and years! My older children use it all the way until middle school when they become too "cool" to have a critter on their pack. After that it becomes the overnight bag for sleepovers! Love it!
This pack has lots of room and the bottom is very sturdy. I was worried about the pack getting wet but the reinforced bottom works well in the rain and snow. The material is easy to clean and it has lots of pockets. It is great for younger kids but not good for really tall kids as the handle is hard to reach once your child reaches 5 ft.
The rolling critter pack is well constructed and a cute back pack. I like the features of the bag. However, on the second day of school my sons wheel stopped rolling and stopped lighting up. We called Customer service and they were super. They immediately shipped us a new backpack and I returned the faulty one. Sure enough the wheel on this one does the exact same thing, so we are discouraged (we walk to school). For now we are just using it on my first graders back.
