I purchased this for my 9 year old daughter. It's an EXCELENT quality backpack but was way too short for her, so we let her 6 yr old sister use it and it's the perfect size for her. There was no way to make the handle longer for my 9 yr old to use, she had to bend over to be able to pull it, so now she's back to using her original llbean backpack, which we've had 3 years and still in perfect shape. I'm about to order her a rolling delux to haul the heavy books, which should be just her size. Oh, easy to clean, we had a smashed pear in a pocket for a week and turned it inside out, rinsed completely off. The material was waterproof. We love the outside pockets. Very nice for my girls to use as their carry-on when flying.
I bought one of these rolling bags for my granddaughter for Christmas 3 years ago. She loves it and it is still in perfect condition. She uses it for school and for trips, and still gets tons of compliments on the glittery wheels.
We like these so much I got the monogrammed shark version for my 2 year old grandson for this Christmas! I'm sure he'll adore having a 'backpack' like his sister has, and will get years of use from it.
we purchased 4 of these backpacks and three worked great- the 4th the wheels stuck- we tried greasing them that didnt work- so we had to swap the backpack which was very easy due to LL Beans great return policy- kids love the back packs- they are on the heavy side for my kids to use the straps- they have held up great so far and hold everything needed for them- school, sports, change of clothes- we are very satisfied and would recommend
