Like the back packs that these go with, these lunch boxes are very durable and easy to keep clean. They have held up to everything my kid has thrown at it and it still looks as good as the day I bought it (this is the second year we have been able to use it...still going strong!). There are no rips, snags, tears, nothing...and the zipper is in the same condition! The interior is very easy to keep clean and has a pouch to keep an ice pack for keeping food cold...wonderful. Another great LLBean buy.
I bought the red with the shark on it for my son who started 1st grade. He absolutely loves it. Red being his favorite color and sharks his favorite thing to talk about. The mesh pocket inside is great for holding granola bars, fruit roll ups, notes, etc. I like that it is deep. I can put a reusable sandwich keeper, juice pouch, drinkable yogurt, another reusable container for fruits, ice pack and a few other items, such as chips or cookies in this. He has not complained of anything being crushed. This is very well made. The zipper is smooth and easy to use. The nylon woven handles will last a very long time. The lining doesn't bunch up. Overall, very happy with the quality of this lunch bag. I'm sure he will use it for many years to come, and he isn't easy on things.
The Critter Lunch Box is a fun way to send your little one off to school. The large rectangular shape fits just about anything they like to munch, including snack and dessert. It is easily cleaned both inside and out with just a damp cloth, and so far even a long holiday weekend with forgotten leftovers, hasn't left any odor problems. My favorite thing about it is that it is large enough to fit small reusable containers instead of having to buy single serve packaging (go mother earth!), but small enough to be carried by even the smallest of hands.
