We've had 2 of these lunch boxes for more than 2 years, and we love them. I just turn them inside out to wash, then line dry, and they look like new. I'm ordering 2 more today so everyone in the family will have one. They're sturdy, attractive, and just the right size.
We bought one of these lunch bags 4 years ago. It is still in great shape. We ended up replacing it last year, as my son was feeling a little too old for it. We still use it for outings. I plan to buy my younger son one this year as he embarks on his kindergarten adventures. One note on cleaning it; we usually just rinse it and let it air dry, but when it gets really yucky, we put it in the dishwasher. It comes out like new. The outside seams are a little stained now, but after 4 years of continual use, we can't complain!
My son has used his lunch box everyday for the last two school years. It has held up amazingly!!!! Lunches have been left in it over the weekend (YUCK!) and it wipes clean. It will get many more years of use! And you can't beat the price. Big Box stores sell cheaply made lunch bags at the same price!
I bought this for my son's 1st grade year and the lining ripped about half-way through the school year after using it 5-days/week. Knowing LL Bean's reputation for quality, I really had hoped it would last all the way through the year and possibly for a second year. We were somwhat disappointed.
